I don’t want to jinx myself, but I haven’t been this sick in a long time. Two courses of antibiotics, enough NiteNurse to keep Boots in operation for years to come and I’m exhausted. But I keep taking my Vitamin C, copious amounts of tea with honey, horrible-tasting chesty cough medicine and bed at 9pm. Once I’m healthy, I never want to think about this illness again!
Being sick comes with its own unique problems when you create content. Every day that I’m not filming, I’m falling behind - and that can be really stressful. Unfortunately there’s not much I can do but get better! And after 4-weeks of being sick, I literally cannot wait.
At the time of writing this, I’d say I’m finally 95% better… fingers crossed!! I can’t wait to actually experience spring and DO stuff! Although saying that, it’s been freezing lately! What happened??

A+N Updates
I haven’t been able to livestream on Twitch as much as I wanted to this month, but I’m grateful for the community in our Discord (if you subscribe on Twitch, you have access to our chatroom on Discord). It’s been so nice being able to chat with the community, especially when I haven’t left the house properly in weeks 🙏🏻
Saying that, we’ve still watched movies together, played some multiplayer party games and finished a really interesting game just the other night.
Youtube has been a funny one this month! Between you and me, DailyMail reached out to me about using my content on their own platforms. I said they could pay me for it. They never responded, but used one of my videos for their article anyway 🥲 They even spelled my name wrong… GB News did something similar a few months ago, but they never bothered to ask for permission first.
It’s crazy that platforms like these even care about my silly videos? 🤯 Life is weird.
On Youtube I tried to find Britain’s oldest pubs, reacted to the crazy British show Bullseye and compared Aldi vs Waitrose. I also did a mini-deep-dive on why American chocolate tastes so weird! I’ve been ill this whole time, but I’m proud that I never missed an upload!
I’m working hard to get back-on-track with content. My ideal work scenario is that I have a few videos in the backlog - that means when a video goes live, I’m (ideally) already working on the video that’ll be posted a few weeks later. Some people think when a video is posted, I made it that day - but thankfully that’s never the case. I love being organised and it’s vital if you want to hit a deadline every week!
If you’d like to watch a bonus full-length video every week, please consider joining me on Patreon or Youtube Memberships! The bonus content is the same for both platforms, but I know some people like one platform more than the other (and vice versa). For my exclusive videos this month, I shared my surprise trip to Paris, the hardest craft I’ve ever done and made my family’s special banana muffins! 🇫🇷🧶🍌 We also did a massive Q&A and a spot of indoor camping ⛺
ps: the Maple Friends and Best Buds tiers on Patreon and YT Memberships also have access to our Discord chatroom, if that interests you! 🙏🏻
What I’ve been watching + reading
This month we watched the TV show Devs and I loved it! I wish more shows would be one season only - so many shows drag on and on well past their expiry… We also finally watched Anatomy of a Fall which I really enjoyed. I love a good courtroom drama!
During the worst days of my illness, when I couldn’t do much and but also couldn’t focus, I watched so many episodes of Law and Order, the Simpsons or X-Files... I think I might have couch-sores from being stuck here for so long.
We also started the new season of Taskmasters! Yay!
OH! And Fallout! Fallout (the game) holds a special spot in my heart and I actually replayed Fallout 4 while I’ve been ill. I loved the new TV show! I really thought it would be awful but it was so entertaining and fun.
As for reading, I’m currently on Book 2 of the “3 Body Problem” series (actually called the “Remembrance of Earth's Past” series) and I’m loving it. 📡 I heard the show is super different so I probably won’t watch it, but I’m really enjoying the books.
Bits that made me laugh
Thanks so much for reading and I hope you’ve been happy and healthy this month! I can’t wait to be normal again 🙂 And thank YOU for supporting me through the years - in sickness and in health, eh??
