Hi everyone, it's me!

I don't think we can start off a newsletter about July without mentioning the heat.. my goodness! If you missed the news, the UK had the hottest temperature on record in July - a nation very much not built for the heat! I know I saw our thermometer reach 39C. Thankfully we bought a little air con unit a few months ago so we were able to use that for sleeping and just dealt with the heat during the day. Glad it's over (for now)! Hope you were able to stay cool!!

Each month I host a Book Club on Patreon (basically a way to force myself to read more) and this month I read Say Nothing: A True Story of Murder and Memory in Northern Ireland - I loved it! I really knew nothing about Northern Ireland and felt like the book gave a great overview of the Troubles and the subsequent trauma that people faced. I thought it might be too confusing, but the author did a great job at explaining it in a simple way that foreigner's like me could understand!
